"Jesus said, ‘Let the children come to me and do not stop them,
because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”  (Matthew 19:14)

Nursery Care (3 and under)

Children of all ages are always welcome in worship services. Childcare is also available in our cheery Nursery, where children 3 years old and under are supervised by our professional caregivers. We provide parents and guardians with silent pagers by which you can be contacted during the worship service if your child needs your attention.

Sunday School-

Sunday school classes are from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

each Sunday, unless specified otherwise, during the school

year (September to November and January to May). They are a

great way to meet kids your own age, interact with loving and

faithful adults, and have a lot of fun!

  • Children's Sunday School

    • Children 4 years old through 5th grade meet upstairs. From 9:45-10:45 am, children meet in their respective (Pre-k to 2nd Grade, 3-5th Grade) classrooms.

    • Each week we play games, dive into Bible stories, respond to those stories with crafts and conversation; and of course have a snack,

Children's Choir

We have a newly relaunched Children's Choir. Weekly form 9:15-9:45 am, Pre-K to 5th graders can join Kenyon and his guitar in learning songs. The children lead worship with a song every other month! Email Hannah Day Donoghue to get Kenyon's information and learn more about children's choir.

Worship Opportunities for Kids

  • Worship Bags

    • During service Worship Bags can be picked up in the first vestibule. Inside are coloring pages/children's bulletins, playdough, legos and other fun things to help aid children in worship. Our activities are based on either the scripture for that day or the Sunday School lesson from that morning.

  • Time with Children

    • During the 11am service, children are invited to come forward for a special lesson during the Time with Children.

  • Help Lead Worship @ 11am

    • Each Sunday we aim to have children participate in worship. We have a variety of roles we hope children will jump into each week. Reach out to the Director of Children and Youth Ministry, Hannah Day Donoghue at Hannah@fpcarlington.org with questions.

Godly Play-

(previously known as Bridges) This is a worship option, in the Montessori method, for 4 year olds through 2nd graders during 11 am worship. We will explore the bible through story, wonder and play.   Each Sunday, we will stay in the large worship service through Time with Children and then head off to the Godly Play worship space. Parents and guardians will need to pick their children up after worship.

Church-Wide Events

Many church-wide events include a special focus for children. Children regularly provide leadership for special services at Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and summer worship. We also have fellowship and service opportunities for families and children to grow in relationship.
