Welcome visitors, friends and members!

Worship is the center of our common Christian life. In worship we praise God and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed through word, music and action. We lift our communal concerns to God in prayer. We experience the grace of God in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper. We respond to God by joyful and faithful service in our community and in the world.

Christmas Eve Services

We invite you to celebrate the joy of Christ's birth by joining us for one of three Christmas Eve Services on Monday, December 24, 2018. Childcare will not be provided this evening.

At our 5 p.m. family worship service, the children of the church will present the Children's Christmas Pageant and our youth will lead us in liturgy.

For a traditional Lessons and Carols service, please join us at 7:30 p.m. or 11 p.m.  Both of the later services include candlelight, and communion will be served at the 11 p.m. service.

Sunday Services

From the second Sunday in September through the end of May, First Presbyterian Church worships at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Communion is celebrated at the 8:30 a.m. service every Sunday and the first Sunday of each month at the 11 a.m. service.

On Sundays during June, July, August and Labor Day weekend there is a single worship service at 10 a.m.  Communion is served on the first and third Sundays of these summer months.

We extend a special invitation to visitors to please join us for refreshments and fellowship after Sunday services.  Following the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services (10 a.m. in summer), we gather in the Yount Social Hall – exit the back of the sanctuary and take the stairs down one flight or exit the front right to use the elevator.  We look forward to meeting you!

Baptisms for both adults and children of believers are scheduled in consultation with the pastor.

*** Childcare is offered during all worship services. ***

Please ask an usher for a large-print bulletin or personal hearing assistance.

Children's and Youth Ministry

Take a few moments to check out a PHOTO SLIDESHOW of the Summer 2014 Youth and Middle School Mission Trip. Five middle and high school girls were ready for a mission adventure. The experience depended their faith, broadened their perspective as compared to their own lives, opened their hearts and the girls were inspired by volunteers that were committed to making a difference.

At First Church, we partner with families to guide and nurture children and youth, providing plenty of ways to encourage kids to know and follow Jesus Christ and be faithful members of his church. Learn how we approach spiritual development of children and youth at Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry.
