Welcome visitors, friends and members!
Worship is the center of our common Christian life. In worship we praise God and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ proclaimed through word, music and action. We lift our communal concerns to God in prayer. We experience the grace of God in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper. We respond to God by joyful and faithful service in our community and in the world.
Sunday Services
From the second Sunday in September through the end of May, First Presbyterian Church worships at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Communion is celebrated at the 8:30 a.m. service every Sunday and the first Sunday of each month at the 11 a.m. service.
On Sundays during June, July, August and Labor Day weekend there is a single worship service at 10 a.m. Communion is served on the first and third Sundays of these summer months.
We extend a special invitation to visitors to please join us for refreshments and fellowship after Sunday services. Following the 8:30 a.m. service, we gather in the parlor – exit the front of the sanctuary and go down the hall past the parking lot entrance. Following the 11 a.m. service (10 a.m. in summer), we gather in the Yount Social Hall – exit the back of the sanctuary and take the stairs down one flight or exit the front right to use the elevator. We look forward to meeting you!
Baptisms for both adults and children of believers are scheduled in consultation with the pastor.
*** Childcare is offered during all worship services. ***
Please ask an usher for a large-print bulletin or personal hearing assistance.
