Youth in grades 6-12 are active in the life of First Presbyterian.

Youth regularly gather for youth fellowship on Sunday evenings. Some of these gatherings are done. The youth from First Presbyterian Church meet together with youth from Arlington Presbyterian Church.

Throughout the year, First Presbyterian youth participate in presbytery youth activities, such as retreats, Youth Days at Six Flags, and other events.

Each Sunday morning, youth gather to explore the Bible and their faith during the church's education hour.

Youth are involved in the worship life of the church, serving as ushers and liturgists in the Sunday morning services.

Youth participate in the mission work of the church, participating in the annual CROP walk, preparing and serving bagged meals to homeless folks in Arlington, and helping out in the church's "Christmas in April" home-repair efforts.

Top Goals for the Youth Ministry
The Youth Ministry is one of the vital ministries of a local congregation. One of the most urgent, most helpful tasks for the church is to help answer any questions teens have, help them understand what Christianity is, and be helpful as they make the transition from childhood to adulthood."

At its most recent meeting, the church's Youth Council established four top goals for the overall youth ministry of this congregation:

  1. Build committed relationships among people--of all ages--in the church.
  2. Develop the spiritual lives of young people.
  3. Develop an appreciation for the history of the church and a love for the Bible.
  4. Develop a youth program that is meaningful and significant for everyone who is involved.
