The Rev. Charlotte H. Lohrenz serves as the interim pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Arlington, VA. Charlotte was born in Kansas and is happy to hear new Toto jokes. Her family moved around a lot as she was growing up, so it is hard to pin her down about where she is from. Although she felt called to the ministry from an early age, she received a degree in science writing from Lehigh University before going on to Yale Divinity School. Since her ordination in 1986, Charlotte has served eight churches in Connecticut, New York, Virginia and Maryland. All of the congregations were searching for a pastor or a new identity. Charlotte enjoys working with congregations that are eager to discern the service God needs them to offer. She and her husband, Gene Shipman, live in Washington DC, with their two daughters - twelve and eight years old - two guinea pigs and their newly adopted Weimaraner puppy, who inhabits the body of a full grown dog.
