Needle-Working Group

This group meets once a month in the parlor. All are welcome to join the group for needle working and fellowship. Keep an eye out in the bulletin for their next meeting.

Quarterlife/Young Adult Group

This group was created for people in their twenties/thirties to have a centralized group for study, service projects, and fellowship activities. In 2012, our study group involved finding ways God can help us manage our busy and sometimes stressful lives, and in 2013 our group hosted the spiritual growth class entitled "Just Eating? Practicing Our Faith at the Table," (follow the class blog at http://fpcjusteating.wordpress.com). For activities and fellowship, we participate in the Crop Walk, our Church Workday, go to wine tastings and participate in crop gleaning. In following with the theme of Hunger this year, we try to look for activities with AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center). Please contact A.J. Tuesday Morning Men's Covenant Group

Meets at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesdays in the parlor.  The group is led by Pastor Bryan Mickle.

Voyageurs Group

Do you like to travel and learn about new places? This group seeks to build Christian community and expand our world views through shared life experiences. Whenever someone gets back from a trip, the group gets together in members' homes or the church parlor to learn about the trip. We open and close with prayer. Usually the "guide" for the evening will serve a light repast and beverages (usually from the country we are virtually visiting). We have also hosted large group activities such as trips to Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water, a fall steam train ride to Frostburg and a Harper's Ferry overnight. Members also hosted a reunion of Peace Corps volunteers for an evening of shared experiences. Please contact Warren Ellsworth at This email address is being protected from spambots. Children's and Youth Ministry

Take a few moments to check out a PHOTO SLIDESHOW of the Summer 2014 Youth and Middle School Mission Trip. Five middle and high school girls were ready for a mission adventure. The experience depended their faith, broadened their perspective as compared to their own lives, opened their hearts and the girls were inspired by volunteers that were committed to making a difference.

At First Church, we partner with families to guide and nurture children and youth, providing plenty of ways to encourage kids to know and follow Jesus Christ and be faithful members of his church. Learn how we approach spiritual development of children and youth at Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry.
